Financial Aid


Counselors are waiting to help with your higher education quest. The Education Opportunity Center is a federally-funded program that helps adults 19 and over enter or re-enter post-secondary education. This outstanding resource is free and offers help with financial aid, career exploration and admissions applications. Feel free to contact the wonderful counselors at the EOC who are always happy to help students get started and stay the course.

The university center of southern oklahoma tuition assistance The University Center of Southern Oklahoma Tuition Assistance is for financially needy students in southern Oklahoma who have demonstrated motivation to attend school through previous grade-point average or ACT score. The University Center Tuition Assistance may be used only to pay tuition, fees, and books for courses taken at the University Center of Southern Oklahoma.

Applications will open in the fall.

The Ada mae smith foundation scholarship The Ada Mae Smith Foundation seeks to provide scholarship to African-American students taking courses at the University Center of Southern Oklahoma who demonstrate commitment to academic excellence. Student must be enrolled in 6 or more hours at the University Center of Southern Oklahoma. Deadline for application is August 30, 2019.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the Honor Society for two year colleges. The primary purpose of the society is recognition of scholars at the community college level. We operate within our four hallmarks, which are Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. Membership is obtained by invitation only and letters are mailed out in the fall and spring semesters. To be eligible for membership a MSC student must have completed 12 semester hours (not counting zero level work) with an overall GPA of 3.50 or higher.

TRIBAL – Today’s Role in Becoming America’s Leaders

TRIBAL is the Murray State College Native American students association, although membership is open to any student interested in learning about and preserving Native American culture. TRIBAL has attended area powwows, hosted a pashofa tasting, and sponsored a film night, and has several activities being planned for this semester.

Student Veterans Association

The Student Veterans Association (SVA) is the newest Murray State College student group at UCSO. SVA is a non-profit organization with chapters located throughout the United States and was established in 2008 to help veterans transition from military life to civilian life. SVA also helps prior service members or veterans that are now attending college. The Student Veterans Association group would like those that served to get the help they need and the the recognition they deserve.
